Jewellery, Material & Care

What material is CREA JEWELS jewellery made of?

CREA JEWELS works with recycled, high-quality 925 sterling silver, which is plated with rhodium. The gold and rose gold details of the jewellery are created by a solid 18ct gold plating with a gold plating thickness of 3 microns. This means that the jewellery is additionally immersed in a micron bath after gold plating and thus, with adequate handling and proper care and storage, has a long life and retains its shine for a long time. The design of the jewellery is rounded off with freshwater pearls and zirconia stones, all of which are lovingly inserted by hand into the unique pieces.

Is CREA JEWELS jewellery suitable for allergy sufferers?

Yes, we only use hypoallergenic materials, all our jewellery is allergy-neutral and nickel-free, which is why there are no skin irritations. So if you have sensitive skin, you don't need to worry about wearing our unique pieces.

Can you shower/bathe/wash your hands with CREA JEWELS jewellery?

Our jewellery has a high-quality 18ct gold plating and is also micron gold-plated, which means that the shine is retained for a very long time if it is stored and cared for properly. In addition, the jewellery is waterproof and does not discolour. Of course, it is no problem to wash your hands every now and then with the rings on your fingers, but you should not overuse the jewellery and shower with it too often, go swimming in salty sea water or chlorinated water, or go to the sauna. Care should also be taken with very oily or greasy body lotions or aggressive shower gels. The pH value of your own skin is also decisive for the material and how the jewellery will tolerate and react to it. If you follow our tips and take good care of the jewellery, you will enjoy our unique pieces for a long time.

What is the best way to care for CREA JEWELS jewellery?

If you wear our jewellery day in, day out, you should take good care of it so that the alloy shines like it did on the first day. The best thing to do is to buy a good silver polishing cloth (available in selected drugstores or at a jeweller's) and polish your jewellery every now and then.

You can also put your jewellery in a water bath with a gentle cleaning product and then clean it gently with a cloth or toothbrush.

What does rhodium silver mean?

To ensure that the silver shine of your piece of jewellery is indefinitely preserved, it is coated with a layer of rhodium. Rhodium coatings are very robust and ensure that your piece of jewellery is protected against corrosion, grey haze, tarnish and also protects it against abrasion.

Product related questions

What is the difference between a necklace and a choker?

A choker is a necklace that is worn shorter and has a special length. A CREA JEWELS choker measures 30 cm and has an 8 cm extension piece that allows you to adjust the length individually on your neck.

In contrast, our necklaces normally measure 40 cm with an extension piece of 5 cm. Many chains in our assortment are also available in other lengths, which is always noted in the product description.

If you would like a special chain in a different length that is not available in our online shop, please send us an e-mail to info@creajewels.com. We are very happy to accommodate the personal wishes of our customers.

How do I tell the difference between charms for earrings and charms for necklaces?

Our charms are available both as pendants for earrings and for necklaces. This means that we have different earrings and huggies in our range onto which our charms can be threaded and worn together. Note the loop of the charm is attached in a way that the charm is visible from the front when worn on our earrings. Our basic necklaces can also be combined with the Necklace Charms provided. In this case, the loop on the pendant is attached to the side so that the charm can be slid back and forth on your chain. Charms for earrings and charms for necklaces can be found in different product categories.
